I have owned several snipers and phantoms and I would go with the checkit V2 if you want an open class gun. I have one that I put a freak, delrin bolt, cp asa, empire reg, sliding trigger, and a gat products autotrigger kit on. It is super smooth. and shoots realy nice. The worst thing about the pump stroke on teh checkit is the bolt. If you upgrade to a delrin oringless bolt it will somth out alot. I would say my gun is competitive with an S6.

So my vote is try to pick up a check it or buy a nice used cocker and build a sniper.

Here is my sniper.

for those of you who are in and around the twin cities, do any of you guys know if splat tag will rent out the azodin kaos pumps? i read on some other thread that they bought some and was wondering if they would rent them out at the giant big game. second, what is the entry for this event? last year was 50$. any chance of tha changin? third, who won last year. when i left midwestern alliance was winning, or had the most objectives captured.

I'm not sure about the Azodins, I haven't heard anything. Haven't even heard about them getting any, but I'm not terribly well connected.
Entry is still 50, always will be probably.
Midwest won baby!!! Haha, and we're gonna win again this year.

Ok. Well, I'll try and say stuff in order of what I know.
AKP is a good gun. Fix the farting, put a reg on, new barrel, and since it comes with a pocket hopper, you're set. I haven't heard anything about the feedneck.
If you're really looking for a deal, you can find autococker pumps for near $100, that's what I did and all it needed was a hopper and a tank. But depending on what it is, $150 can be good.
I dislike Superbolts. It's kinda a personal thing... I hear they're not bad for pump, but if you try and make them semi they aren't good.
Like OMG said, Checkits are out at pbgateway.

Ok, now, as for hoppers fitting, here's all you need: http://paintballgate...48rodrculo.html
12 bucks, feeds pretty much as fast as you need to, and refer to the commandments of the pump player to see why you shouldn't use a prophecy... though, i mean, if you really want to use it, go ahead.

Some other guns to look in to if you're in the 100-200 dollar range, possibly a phantom, or a tippy sl-68 II. held one of those SL-68 IIs the other day, and I have to say I really liked it. And something that you might like about those is that they can autotrigger, which, since you're just stepping down from semi, you might find that you like it.

And yes, a sniper is a pump cocker.

In Topic: Standardized Barrel Threading?

I don't see why threading in fast is a big deal.

I would rather screw in my barrel for an extra three seconds than have it unscrew during a game.

No barrel falls off during a game, and if you want it to not unscrew you just put an o-ring on the barrel.

This guy's did (2:08-2:14)

Haha, but yeah, I don't really see barrels coming unscrewed in game. But, my autococker pump barrel has a habit of becoming loose, and it worries me... It really doesn't like to stay in, I think it's a little stripped. And I don't enjoy how long it takes to screw it in really... :/ my Tippmann screws in faster haha. It's not that big of a deal though.
