2007 DP Fusion vs 2006 Ego

29 July 2011 - 11:32 AM

07 DP Fusion vs 06 Ego, both around 200 bucks, I am looking specifically for a stacked barrel poppet, just looking for suggestions as to which is the better deal.
I specifically don't want a loud poppet, play with noobs.

Quietest Stacked barrel poppet

Macdev? DP's F-series? Ego with high dwell, low lpr setting and a fancy quiet bolt? Something Bob long?

I have no idea. What have you good people shot and been impressed with?

2006 SL66 for 400 or 2007 F7 with barrel for 220?

So I own a 2007 PMR, and for giggles wanna try a stacked poppet. I like the concept behind poppets for their ease of cleaning after barrel breaks. The issue is that I am on a tight girlfriend friendly budget, and play mainly with rec ballers, so I am turned off by the idea of owning an Ego tthat sounds like a canon.

I have to say that I love the SL66 look and fact that it's planet eclipse, and would wager most on here would vote for that one. However, the price being twice as expensive and the ego "sounds like a canon" issue would kind of feel like selling my soul to the devil.

If I was a back player that only played speedball, there'd be no contest. In fact, I,m a front player who prefers to tap noobs on the shoulder out, rather than scare them wittless with the sound of my marker.

Based on that, thoughts?

Many thanks.

Etek 3 vs. 06 Macdev Cyborg vs DP Fusion 07

Honestly, I'd probably be fine with the DP for 220, cause I don't play that often... though I heart the Etek 3 pretty hard; though I've never shot one (hope they're kinda quiet).

Though my girlfriend plays paintball, the tough part is convincing her that I should be able to spend the money at all... without getting a death sentence. She wasn't too happy when I surprised her with the last marker I never talked about. ("doh!")
