Phantom Threaded .682 JJ Ceramic

30 June 2009 - 06:51 PM

I talked to JJ Performance about doing a run of .682 phantom threaded ceramic barrels. I have used them on numberous guns and loved em, but now with pump we all know the need for a small bore for better consistency and roll out prevention. Just wondering for those that have a Phantom, would you buy a .682 should they be made availble. Looking at 12", bore obviously at 682, $30 a piece. There would have to be a minimum order of 50. If there is enough interest I may pick up the barrel myself and distribute them to those who had prepaid or try to get a retailer to jump on board.

I don't care if you think it would be a cool concept or you would get one "if you had a phantom"... Im specificly asking those who have phantoms and will buy one should they be made availble.

Micro Phantom

17 May 2009 - 11:08 AM

Agreed, micro phantoms just as well as other phantoms but its tiny barrel and extremely light weight makes it difficult to shoot. I'd suggest picking up a stock for it, probably t-stock since its adjustable and would look less awkward (opposed to the long L-stock).

Grey Ghost

08 May 2009 - 08:13 PM

Erggg. I love my phantoms and can't imagine playing without one... but for some time now have been entertaining the idea of picking up a lapco grey ghost. Do we have any owners/personal experiences with this gun? Pros/Cons, comparisons to phantom.... Idk exactly what Im looking for in this thread other then info/opinions/chatter on this gun.

I don't have the money to buy one.. so I'd have to sell one of my phantoms and some accessories... so yeah...

Silencing a Phantom

03 May 2009 - 06:27 PM

Alright so me and my cousin had a little bet... create a 9in. "raincover" and who's ever was quietest won. He used his a5 and some nice homemade cover w/foam and I used my phantom with a peice of fiber glass pipe insulation. I won... yes I know.. very shocking.

Since I love tinkering around and thought the sound reduction was pretty cool I want to probe deeper into the challenge. So I'm wondering if anyone has done anything to thier gun/phantom which intentionally or unintentionally reduced the sound signature (Aside from different/modified barrels). Any of you guys who has experimented with low pressure set ups... any noise reduction? Any suggestions?

Other then messing around with low pressure (i really dont know if it would help), I'm considering putting a small rubber sheet on either the back of the hammer or the small disk on the power tube.

I know this isn't practical but something i'd enjoy messing around with... so let me hear your thoughts. ALSO: This isn't a discussion on Silencers/Raincovers, but rather gun modifications.

New Stock Barrel for Phantoms

23 April 2009 - 06:55 PM

Hey just letting you guys know, if you haven't already heard, Mike Casady is changing the stock barrel bore down to around .686-.6875 from the older .690, right nows hes got some 686's and 688's in stock. Just another option for those guys looking to get a better paint to barrel match without spening 50-80 bucks on a new smaller bore barrel. My 686 has just been mailed...
