Looking for a specific barrel color

20 April 2013 - 07:46 PM

So here's the situation. I have Bob Long G6R, polished Titanium and Lime
(http://a248.e.akamai...ANIUMLIME-2.jpg)

It came with a one piece barrel, (and it's a good barrel) but I want to look into getting a 2-piece. Thinking about a CP 2-piece or even a freak kit, however I want the color to be as close to polished lime as possible. Any suggestions?

Bob Long G6R Bolt Stick?

28 November 2012 - 10:01 PM

So, I worked on a friend's G6R this past weekend. Took it apart, cleaned all the paint and junk that was inside it, relubed the o-rings with Dow 55, and oiled the bolt with Tri-flow. Once I was done i used the pressure tester to set the LPR/HPR to around 70/175. Once I was done with that, took it out back, shot a pod of paint through it and everything was working fine. He gets it back and tells me that he get bolt stick.

Now I'm pretty sure I did everything right when lubing and putting the gun back together. I own a G6R as well and I've never had this experience with mine. This is what I told him to do:

- re-oil on the bolt
- Check to see if I put lube on the ram o-rings
- install the original bolt and see if you get the same results. (He has a hush bolt)

- check your air and battery
- Make sure the bolt pin is set correctly

If none of those solutions work, any ideas on what it could be? Thanks for your help.

Homemade paintball gun display.

19 August 2012 - 07:35 PM

So, for a long time, I've been searching for a way to display my paintball guns in my room while I'm not using them. I've ran into a ton of PVC pipe solutions, but those are not attractive. I've seen the the $80 Dye and Planet Eclipse displays, (that I don't think is available anymore), but I didn't want to pay that much. I've seen the wire type displays, but those are IMPOSSIBLE to find. So I decided to make my own.

Drew up a simple blueprint and took a trip to IKEA. I spent a total of $10 to make 2 displays. The resulting product came out great, and I might wall mount these! Here is a little How-To so you can make one for yourself.

STEP ONE
-You need to take a trip to IKEA and pick up these items.

One EKBY LAIVA (23" X 9.5") shelf. I chose the black/brown color - $2.00

2 packs of BETYDLIG (Curtain rack hangers) - $1.50 each

STEP TWO
Grab a drill, and 4 small screws. You'll need the screws to mount the curtain rack hangers. The screws are not included.

STEP THREE
Open one of the curtain hangers. It should have 2 adhesive rubber pieces. A thin one, and a thick one.

Take the thin rubber piece and put it on the hook like so...

Take the metal piece and mount the longer side to the shelf using 2 screws. I measured this 5 inches away from the edge. You can adjust any way you want, but I found that 5 inches worked the best for me. Do this for both sides of your shelf.

NEXT
Take the thick rubber piece and stick on the top of the left curtain hanger.
Posted Image

Take your hook and connect it to the right curtain hanger like so.

Don't forget to put the covers on your curtain hangers to hide the screws.

DONE!!!! Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

An attractive paintball gun display for $5. Took me about 5-10 min to put together! Like I said earlier, I may decide to wall mount these later down the line. I really liked how it came out. Just wanted to share this with the TechPB community. If you decide to build your own, I'd love to see them.

May be picking up a G6R Soon

13 May 2012 - 10:20 PM

My question is geared to people that own, have owned, or has worked on the Bob Long G6R.

I have a good amount of money coming to me in a few weeks, and if everything goes to plan, I'm going to treat myself and purchase a G6R. I've done plenty of research and the reviews have been great on this marker. Now, I know that all you get is the marker. It was suggested to me to get a pressure tester as well. What else do I need to maintain this marker? I currently own some Hater Sauce, PE Gun Grease, and TechT Gun oil. Is the stock barrel good? Should I pick up a SLP reg for my Ninja tank? I currently have my Ninja tank at about 500psi (Removed 2 red shims from the reg last year)

Thanks in advance!
