EA Tech Support.

So a lot of the PC BFBC2 players are having crash to desktop, blue screen of death, or complete computer lock-ups that require a total system reboot.

Somewhere on the EA forums (I'm too lazy to go find it.) they ask you to send your DxDiag file when you submit a trouble ticket. Most of us are getting this in response:

"Hello

Thank you for writing back to us at Electronic Arts.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you thus far.

In order to provide you further assistance I would like to inform you that there is currently an issue with the latest Nvidia graphic card drivers not triggering the cards onboard fan, resulting in extreme overheating that will cause the game to crash.

You may try rolling back your video card driver to the previous version until Nvidia is able to put out an updated driver.

For more information, visit the Nvidia forums here:

http://forums.nvidia...howtopic=161525

Or here:

If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.

In the meanwhile, should you require any further assistance, please visit our support knowledge base at www.support.ea.com for a quick reference.

Sincerely,

Now, the really frustrating thing about this, is the fact that I'm using an ATI card. They're not even bothering to check the files they request you to send. I am now firmly believing that EA is run by monkeys with helmets.
