Awhile back you asked me if places will require a certain level of dive training in order for you to rent their equipment.
Most any place will require that you have your open water certification card present at the time of rental.

Honestly I am not sure. I've never had the question come up before. Everyone I have gone under with has diving experience. Might just have to call the shop you are thinking about renting from and ask.

To clarify, do I have to be certified from a class to be able to rent scuba gear at a lake/facility and go diving? Or would they just teach me the basics there and let me go for the day?
