Popular music has always been the same way it is now. Sugar, Sugar by the Archies was the number one song in 1969, the same year that Abbey Road, Zeppelin II, Bitches Brew, and Trout Mask Replica came out.

I own a pair of Sennheiser HD 598s

I love the hell out of them, but they will wreck your shit if you're not careful. The 1/4 female to 3.5mm is a solid block of plastic and gold, and acts as a big lever that will crack output jacks. Sennheiser sells a different adapter that has a lead of cable that is supposed to help solve the problem. Apparently, they are also coming out with a cable that goes from their proprietary 2.5mm to a 3.5mm.

I happen to think that Beats are way too bass heavy.

Rodney has said that eventually more will be made, I believe. That was a while ago though. In the mean time they seem to get bought up pretty quickly whenever they come on to the market used.

Carter Guns made in the 80's and early 90's are absolutely bullet proof. I can attest to that. Post dye banana trigger buzzards have some issues. However, the phantom has the same main problem, as in the paint just rolls right out the end of the barrel. Carter making the buzzards cocker threaded but requiring them to have a special bevel is a bit mind boggling, but it is what it is. The new minicomps and minibuzzards don't have the same issues that the old ones have. Pick up some Carter inserts and you're golden.

That's not to say I don't love phantoms, I absolutely do, but calling them the best pump gun ever made is sort of like calling a Toyota Carolla the best car ever. Sure it always works and honestly when it comes down to it, it really probably is one of the better cars in terms of getting you from point A to B, but it doesn't have the magic that Carters and Gargoyles do. Once Rodney makes some more Gargoyles I definitely plan on picking one up.
