In Topic: New gun from Alien paintball: Deception

**cracks knuckles**

WELL it's been a while since I've gotten involved in anything like this.

There are very few people on this forum that have the depth of knowledge required to speak with any authority about the claims made by Alien Paintball and Jack Rice. Mike would be one, Andrew is another, Bryce and Cockerpunk, and then me. I don't have the experience with Alien markers, having never had the chance to pick one up, so that takes me out of that equation.

If you are not one of the four other people listed, you are not entitled to an opinion on anything other than the colour and *maybe* if you preferred a previous Alien Paintball marker that you owned. The data that PunkWorks collected was a great start, but far from conclusive or infallible.

Play nice children and don't be silly.

In Topic: Low or high dwell for smoothest shot?

15 September 2013 - 09:23 AM

The answer is neither really. A correctly tuned gun will give you the smoothest shot. There are points at which raising the dwell no longer gives an improvement on felt vibration but is just wasting air. But generally speaking, the slower the bolt is moving, the "smoother" it will feel.

In Topic: Replacing EGO 09 Solenoid.. hose too small? (pics)

It's going to be really hard to tell whether you've ordered the wrong hose, or been sent the wrong hose, or been sent the right hose for the wrong part...

But here's what you can try. Pour a mug of boiling water and dip the end of the hose into it for a minute or so. Then dry it off and try to fit it over the barb. The heat from the water should make the hose more pliable.  Good luck!

In Topic: DP 5 metal on metal wear inside bolt

Just to be clear, as Andrew has said, the output pressure of your tank reg will have absolutely no bearing on wear inside the marker. That's what your HPR is for.

DP say some really weird things sometimes. Like they also stick their macro line in a pencil sharpener to bevel the edge and claim that it is the correct way to fit the line.

My first thought is to replace the orings on your tank regulator and see if that doesn't fix the issue.
