I've had a Smart Parts Ion for 4-5 months ago when it was my first gun, it still is. I hear a lot on YouTube and other places that it "Sucks!" Is this true? I have a lot of upgrades on it and it seems to get the job done. I heard Mike Phillips say "It's not the gun it's the player, stop worrying about your gun. Go out and play." Should I save up the money this summer to get like an Planet Eclipse Etek3 or perhaps the new dangerous power G3? What do you guys think I should do?
Also I'm hoping to get on a team if I can. Will my Ion not work?

My interests mainly revolve around paintball. I enjoy playing paintball, mainly speedball. I enjoy working on paintball guns. When I'm not playing paintball which I only do on the weekends, I'm at my local paintball store. I have only been playing paintball for a year now and am using a Smart Parts Ion. It's almost fully upgraded but I don't worry about upgrades as much as I do on improving my techniques and skills. And like Mike Phillips said "It's the player not the gun, stop worrying about upgrades or your gun. Just go and play." But this upcoming summer I'm going to get a job so I can eventually get a better gun.
