JULY 10TH 2010

Story line;

The middle east has completely collapsed, NATO forces have clashed with "rogue" countries, tying up western countries resources and man power. The war has been on for only a year now, but it has seen the most brutal fighting the world has ever encountered. This has weakened the ability of the US and Canada to fully defend their lands and borders, and communist forces, referring to themselves as the New Liberation Alliance(NLA), plots to exploit it. These countries have not entered the war in the middle east, and are thus at full strength, a strength they plan to use.

The invasion lands in the summer of 2010, on the westcoast of Canada, and reaching as far in as Northern Alberta to secure the oil resources located within. Without the Canadian Forces, the first and main line of resistance falls entirely upon the citizens located in the towns and cities. This is the story of a small town in Northern Alberta, where the locals resist the construction of the NLA's main HQ for Northern Alberta, and putting a halt to the transfer of fuel and troops to the cities to the south. The longer they can hold out, the more the Canadian Forces can regroup to mount a counter offensive.

- There will be two teams, the New Liberation Army (NLA), and the Canadian Resistance.

- The entire field is open for play!

- Canadian Resistance will have the trenches as their HQ, and control the western side of the pipeline, the NLA will have the fort as their HQ, and control the easterm side of the pipeline. There will be 3 "bridges" across the pipeline, and those bridges will be the only way to cross to the other side, as the open pipeline will be considered a river, and unpassable.

- Points are awarded on the hour for controlling certain areas, by having your flag raised, if no flag is up, this represents contested territory, and give no points. For the Canadian Resistance side of the pipeline, flags will be at the trenches, deadwood, and the town, and on the NLA side, the junkyard, the maze and the fort. Tiretown will not be active in this game, but will still be in play. Each bridge will have 3 flag stations, one on each side, and one in the middle. Points are awarded on the hour as follows;

Controlling your stations on your teams side of the pipeline and bridge = 1pt
Controlling the station at the middle of the bridge = 2pts
Controlling the station at the opponents side of the bridge = 3 pts
Controlling the opponents stations on their side of the pipeline = 2 pts
Raising your teams flag at the opponents HQ(instant points regardless of time) = 5 pts
Completing missions = 2 pts

Point costs may change, either way they will be reviewed again before the game starts.

- Each side will have a general, and this person will receive mission cards every hour. If the mission is complete, points are awarded. Some missions will have time limits, others will not. A choice of envelopes will be given to the General, and they choose two, and pick which mission they want to attempt and return the other one to the pile. They do not have to complete the mission themselves, they may choose someone on their team if the mission needs only one person, or if it is a team effort, relay the info to them in a manner of their choosing. The General, before the game starts, will choose 10 players, 5 to each of their areas other than their HQ, where the rest of the team will start. Those 5 players in each area will start the game there. (Resistance will send 5 to town and 5 to deadwood, NLA sends 5 to junkyard and 5 to maze).

- Respawns will be instant, no waiting time. However if you are in a deadbox in an area where the opponents flag is up, you must go to another deadbox in your teams control before you can re-enter play. There will be one deadbox at each course in play, trenches will use the main area in front of the bunker, the Fort will use an area close to them by the speedball courses. You may take your gear, water, extra paint, etc, to your HQ's deadboxs for ease of access to them, please ensure they are secure!

- If one team reaches the other teams HQ, and raises the flag, they will gain the instant points for doing so, and the game will reset with both teams starting on their side of the bridges, all flags reset to owning teams, and bridges reset to contested. (Ive been in games without a reset many times, and on the "losing" side, and its no fun, hence I have added the reset).

- If the teams are deemed unbalanced, some players may be switched to balance them.

- In the event of a tie, if the players want to settle it, we will do a game of civil war on the pipeline!

This is XCalibre Paintballs first scenario, and writing it brought many challenges due to the pipeline separating half the field from the other half. We hope to see you there, and we hope you enjoy it. If you have any suggestions on how to improve it, please let us know! This game was written by Sean "Sulli" O'Sullivan, the teaser video written, filmed and edited by Sam Johnson, both of SmashOneMedia. We would like to thank ahead of time, the staff of XCalibre Paintball Park, owners Mitzie and Walter, as well as Nic, Bryce, Mike, Jeremy, John, Cooper and Shawn for their parts in the teaser. Any suggestions will be passed onto Sean O'Sullivan, and will use them to make the next game bigger and better!

FREE Camping for all registered players. If you wish to reserve a campsite at the field, please contact the office in advance.

Pleas come out enjoy a great day of paintball at a great field.

Also come out and enjoy CXBL action on July 31st - August 1st
