i just built another that's powered by a bike pump. It has a big pressure tank(1.25"X probably 8 inches.) and a 1.25' valve. I shoot it at 140lbs, again with 1/2 projectiles and i think it shoots too fast. I need to do more testing, but i believe it is shooting my darts fast enough that they wont fly straight. It will plant an arrow in plywood though.

your velocity is determined by pressure and volume. So 5" of 3/4" will shoot a nerf rocket, but 12" of 1/2" won't.

I tried a cannon but i reg'd it so i wouldn't have to buy expensive high pressure valves and it wouldn't shoot with the big barrel. I put a half inch barrel on it and it will bury nails in sheets of ply wood and can shoot my homeade ammo through standing seam steel. If you want something fun i would suggest a small barreled cannon like mine. I can shoot modified nails and screws, nerf darts, slightly modified arrows, slightly modified 7.62X54R spent casings(my favorite), AA batteries, gobstoppers in a patch, or just about any thing else that will fit in 1/2" pvc.

i made my own stock class tube for my trillogy by using 1/2" hot water release valve pipe and a 1/2" tee. I had to sand down the tee to get it to fit but it works nice now. I used a nylon tie to make a speed feed for the back end and dremeled some holes in the side of the pipe to check the paint levels.

I'm using a piece of 12 inch 1/2" steel pipe. I think i'm regging the pressure down too far though.
