27 September 2010 - 02:18 PM

My friend's willing to sell me his Fastpack for 20 which i guess is about $30.
I think this is a good deal.. correct me if I'm wrong?
But is it good pack? and is there a better pack I could get for the price?

Thanks

Getting Worse?

26 August 2010 - 02:31 PM

Hi guys,

I just played a mini scenario day at my local field in Essex (UK). Actually hardly anyone turned up due to vacation and tippmann challenge, and there were just two teams of about 35 people.

So I found myself having a really bad day. I'm a newish player, but I just found that the confidence wasn't there like it normally is. I didn't want to move out of bunkers and I hardly shot any paint. I was knocked a bit when in one match I got hit in the knee, neck and ear (??? I wasn't even wearing proflexes) all at the same time. I was also really tired and I was feeling reluctant to move up. I think I mabye shot one person in the entire day!

Anyway, I arrived home feeling a bit disheartened and wondering whether paintball just wasn't the sport for me anymore, despite having a great passion for it. But I found that watching some of mikes videos helped my 'self esteem' build a bit, for example the 'How to get better video'. I also was wondering whether watching video's where mike plays with the goggle/barrel cam makes you feel like you will enjoy paintball more, because you see this great player shooting people out, and although i'm sure he works very hard, the video makes you feel like it is easy. There also isn't any pain or shock when mike gets hit.

The point is, I felt bad when I played badly and didn't get any kills/got shot easily, almost like I was getting worse. But do watching a lot of video's like mike's give you a false sense of security when actually playing?

I just wondered if anyone wanted to comment.

Thanks guys.

Parents And "Guns"

10 August 2010 - 04:05 AM

Okay so I've been playing paintball for a year now and I'm trying to get hold of some gear.
I've already got some great purchases lined up from my friend; E vents, Fast Pack.

But I was talking to my mum, and she was saying that she doesn't mind me playing paintball for fun, but getting my own gear is a waste of time and money. She seems to think that it's just another craze that will be forgotten in a years time.
And of course, she doesn't like the idea of me owning a "gun".
I've tried the usual stuff, like "paintball's a great way to keep fit" and "it's better than sitting in front of my xbox all day". But she just thinks that I can go once in a while and use rentals.
Another thing I tried was to explain that getting my own gear would be cheaper in the long run, because I wouldn't have to pay the price for the rentals If I played more. This worked a tiny bit because my mum didn't actually put up any argument. (although didn't say OKAY either)

Do you guys have any more tips on how to solve this problem of "buying your own gear is a waste of time and money"?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Nppl video Game

09 August 2010 - 07:23 AM

on my NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 game, it claims in the gear store that the Invert Mini is about double the weight of the SP Vibe. Not to mention it being heavier than other markers like NXT shocker. This can't be right? Posted Image

I'm 14 living in UK.
What should I expect if i'm going to attend my first scenario?
Just a general idea of what actually happens.
Thanks.
