I really like the new design. I think they almost knocked it out of the park with one exception, why would you not add an OLED/LCD sceen when totally redesigning your flagship marker in 2013/2014. I know its a little thing but dealing with dip switches and LED lights on a 1400-1600 marker in my opinion is unacceptable. Does it affect how the marker shoots no but its a standard that bevery other marker has except this one!
I think most will agree they are tanks but certainly not the smoothest shooters which is why a good number of people shoot spools. I think here are spools out there that are far smoother and just as reliable but require more maintenance than the GEO platform. Personally i can deal with an end of the day cleaning as long as i'm getting a butter smooth shooter.
By the way the Camo custom GEO3 pictured above is so sweet looking!
From my understanding, once released the GTi will be the Clone platform going forward-that is all new clones will have the upgrades. If you have already purchased a GT then for the reasonably low price of $100 you can send in your marker or the parts and get the upgrades-good on MacDev for looking after thier loyal consumers. Essentially MacDev will buy back your old Clone GT parts shaving 100 of the cost of the upgrades. If your seriously looking at getting a Clone wait till March I believe it is and order it then!
Not that i have ever experienced issue with my VX chopping but the bolts on the two markers are different. The GT has a flat faced soft tip bolt while he VX has just an open tip gold bolt. Ergonomically the GT has improvements, the grip frame is actually more round at the back and slightly thinner-both wins in my opinion. If you have the dough get the GT, otherwise you can't go wrong with a VX.
I know this saying gets thrown around alot but "I was speaking to a friend" who mentioned that they are working on better grips that will be released on the new Borg and will be compatible with the Clone GT and VX. I think if they do this with a new updated trigger and we might have hands down the best spoolie on the market. Regardless Macdev makes great markers and it seems they are making a concerted effort to listen to consumers, good on them. More companies should be like them!!!
