In Topic: Etek 4 Woodsball

Yea all these people telling you to get an Axe can just go away now. It's your money, spend it the way you want to. I would say go get your Etek 4. It will definitely hold up during woodsball. Anything that can work on a speedball field is guaranteed to work on the woodsball field. Like most people have already stated, the Axe is smoother but you also don't notice a difference when you're actually playing - ergo the Axe is not really smoother. And second, even if the Etek 4 is loud... people will probably still tell where you are once you start shooting paintballs in their general direction - as in the Axe will still "give you away". Even if someone is super hardcore into woodsball and can tell exactly where you are from sound signature, there's like what 1-3 of those guys tops? With a good chance of them being on your team? These people posting about the Axes are wasting posts. Go get yourself the Etek 4. I would take it over the Axe as well. Packaging is very nice (much better than the axe), Trigger - better than the Axe, Ergonomics - better than the Axe, Customer Support - better than the Axe, and lastly it's what you want... The two markers do the exact same thing, so why not get the one you think looks better and appeals to you more.

Seriously, everyone says to save money by buying used, and it's a little hard to believe until you try it. It really does save so much... and it's not like you're buying a piece of scrap. The way things are now it's pretty dang hard to get scammed if you aren't a fool when going about things. All these markers will do the same thing, buy what you like. And I also mean color. you should definitely decide on poppit vs spool first, but from there on things are pretty similar besides looks, weight, length etc. GET WHAT YOU LIKE

In Topic: Ego 11 as first gun?

03 January 2013 - 01:57 AM

Judging by your questions, I would highly suggest you do not buy an Ego 11 for your first marker. You're clearly new to paintball and aren't really in the know-how. And it sounds like everything you want to buy is being bought for you, not by you. Get a good mask for sure, buy a 68/4500 tank (Ninja is the best way to go), and get a hopper. But seriously, you should really learn more about the ins and outs of paintball before dropping $1,000 on a marker. I started out with an Invert Mini, used it only a couple of times and decided that I really liked paintball and upgraded to an Ego 09. It was definitely an impulse buy, but I was at least sold on the idea of playing frequent enough to justify the purchase. From the sounds of it, you've played a couple of times and now all of the sudden want the best of the best. Just remember, a $350 Empire Axe does all the same things as a $1,000 Ego 11. Hell, a $200 GOG can goes the same as that.

Try putting in a new battery. Your loader should have absolutely no effect on the eyes malfunctioning.
