Handheld Chrono

12 March 2009 - 05:59 AM

I've been doing some work with my marker at home, mostly tuning it, but to make sure it's alright, I've felt that I need a chrono that I can take around with me, at home and on the field. However, I've heard that some of them can be inaccurate, and perhaps may have other issues. Can anyone here recommend a good handheld chronograph?

Thanks (yet again) in advance.

Reusing Stickers?

11 March 2009 - 10:43 AM

I was wondering if there was a way to remove stickers off my loader and stick them onto another one...

Yes, it's the most trivial and inconsequential thing in probably the whole of paintball in terms of "equipment", but well... I was curious. And I want my stickers back.

Thanks once again in advance, guys.

Swapping laptop components?

27 February 2009 - 07:46 PM

Okay, I have a Compaq Presario V3000 with a "decent" graphics card, but a CPU that only runs at 1.6 GHz, and a HP Pavilion dv1000 that has a crap graphics card, but runs at 1.8GHz. Also, the HP has more hard disk space, but that's not really an issue.

Seeing as the Compaq has a Turion64 processor and the HP has an Intel Centrino, is it possible to take the Centrino and stick it in the Compaq? And if so, how would I go about doing it? I don't think I can switch the graphics cards, since I think the Intel one is integrated. <_<

Thanks in advance, guys.

Cyborg RX

25 February 2009 - 02:49 AM

As those who've seen my sig will know, I use a Cyborg RX. There's just two thing about it that I'd like to know how to resolve.

First is a minor problem, but I'd like to have it fixed anyway. There's a leak coming from the elbow on the Gladiator reg, due to what I can only describe as a "hole" in the thread sealant. I have no idea what brand of thread sealant MacDev uses on these. It is, however, a sort of very pale brown, almost cream colored sealant (I'll see if I can provide a pic, but my camera fails at the moment). If anyone could tell me how to remove that elbow and the sealant without breaking anything (Yes i'm paranoid), and perhaps suggest the type of Loctite I should use on it (I know what red Loctite does, so don't try it :P) I would be very grateful.

Second issue. Preferably, a Cyborg should sound something like the one in the first post of this thread:

However, I figure probably due to the way it's tuned right now, mine sounds like a car hitting a dumpster (i.e. loud). A friend (qualified MD tech at that :P) told me the correct way to tune it was to set the HPR to 180-190, and then chrono from the LPR. However, since I don't have a gauge on my RX, it's a little difficult to guess where 180-190 is. If anyone has their RX shooting quietly, it would be great to know how far in your HPR is screwed in. Just as a yardstick, it would be great if you could use this method to measure it, so I can do the same thing when setting my screw:

1. Get an allen key that fits the brass screw at the bottom of the reg.
2. Put it in by the long end.
3. Get a pencil and mark the point where it's even with the end of the reg.
4. Take out the allen and measure from the end of the long section of the allen key to the pencil marking you made in centimeters.
5. Post it here.
6. ???
7. Profit! :D

Thanks very much in advance.

Macdev Dealers in Sydney?

21 December 2008 - 08:36 AM

I couldn't think of where this thread might go, so I put it here, apologies if it's not where it should be...

Anyway, I'm heading off to Sydney today, and I was hoping to pick up some Macdev stuff while I'm there if I could, since the import tariffs in my coutry are ridiulously high. However, I don't know much about the place, so it would be much appreciated if anyone here could give me proshop names or locations of any Macdev dealers in Sydney.

I already tried Google, but I didn't get much, and the Macdev website hasn't put up their dealer list yet.

Thanks in advance, guys.
