In Topic: Azodin Kaos Pump vs. CCI Phantom

If your just starting to play pump, and not really sure if your going to stick with it, do you really want to spend several hundred dollars out of the gate? the Azodin can be had fairly cheap brand new, but I wouldnt even go that far, id go used , set the purchase price at $50 or less and just have fun with whatever you find.

If you really enjoy playing pump, then you can upgrade later to a Phantom or whatever else catches your fancy. But at least then youll know what you want in a pump and can make a better decision based on some experience.

I have dozens of pumps, but the most fun ive had lately was with a sub $20 tiger shark i found on ebay... it was a good reminder for me to have fun and not worry so much about the equipment. :D

I haven't had a chance yet to use either the new trraccer, or the azodin pump, so i cant speak on quality, but i might be able to help a little on qualities and comfort.

They are two very different style set ups. If you are used to Auto Cockers, then you would probably be more comfortable with the Azodin, as it has a similar body style. I haven't seen a horizontal feed kit for the Azodin, but if it has a removable feed neck, then I'm sure some one has a kit out there someplace. Its nice to have that option, even if your not yet ready for stock class. It reminds me very much of my Action Markers Illusion, of which I am a huge fan and I need to take a closer look to compare them.

The Trraccer on the other hand is a classic nelson long gun style set up with some modern tweaks. By its very nature, it should be easy to use and customize with a standard bottom line lug and a horizontal feed adapter is readily available. Seems a no nonsense , easy to use, easy to tune pump with quite a few options, and the mil-sim look with all the rails. if you shoot single stack semis, Tippmanns, mags, etc, you might be more comfortable with the Trraccer. it is after all, a Trraccer, the originals were fun to use and rarely complained, Ive had several.

all that being said, I want one of each :D

Paid and half packed! Some of the SCP Florida Pump Chumps will be meeting up there for the first time in years and running with Team Trigger Happy, apparently well be "English." Ill be running open pump most of the time, but my lady will be my cover fire and she truly is trigger happy with her modified A5 rt... With a bit of luck well get a dozen or so to show up, Im still working on people...

We should have a banner and a pop up (if i can find them, its been a long time ) or just look for the people with pumps, probably covered in paint. dont hesitate to stop by and say Ni..or Hi, or Ecky Ecky Ecky F'tang F'tang Olé Biscuitbarrel!
