Topics I've Started

1st PC build

16 December 2013 - 10:30 PM

Alright, after a few days of researching and reading, I put together what I think is a good rig around the amount of money I'm looking to spend:
Motherboard: ?
Case: ?
Power supply: ?
As you can see, I still need suggestions on the motherboard, case, and power supply that would work well with these components. Also hopefully I didn't overlook anything. If I did, let me know. I am aware that it would be better for me to wait closer to the release, but I'm an impatient man, and honestly I wouldn't mind being able to play crysis 3 or Minecraft while I wait.

Returning my Beats.

05 August 2013 - 03:28 AM

So I've come to the light side and decided to sell my Beats Pros for something else. Problem is, they are out of the box (the ear cups are mildly worn as well) and that inherently lowers the selling price. My first pair of Beats the sound went out on my right ear after about 3 months, and so I was able to return it for an identical pair of beats. So I was thinking I could probably do the same type of thing like that again, since I still have the receipt and box and everything, but this time, there is no defect. I'm worried if I go on and try to return them, they might deny them because they work fine. I doubt I will get trouble if I say the sound went out like it did with the last pair, but I don't know if they test them, or what I could say if they called me out. Does anyone know their policies on these types of things, or even if it matters if it works or not?

These new albums...

Incoming hip-hop related rant.

So, I have to say, I'm pretty discouraged by these new albums coming out. Yeezus dropped, Magna Carta dropped, and Born Sinner dropped, and honestly, the only album in that group that I can consider "good" is Born Sinner.

Yeezus was a clusterfuck, in my opinion. I think maybe 2 songs off that entire album I like, which is pretty disappointing because all of Kanye's last album (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) was fucking amazing. That album is up there with Illmatic in my book. It could just be me comparing it to an album I hold in such high regards, but I feel like he didn't really with Yeezus. It's just a ego-driven album, mostly geared toward radio play in my opinion. It's just weak, and is probably one of his worst albums. Just disappointing.

And while we discuss albums geared towards radio play, Magna Carta is a fucking disaster. I mean, Jesus fucking Christ. La Familia was verbal diarrhea, and fucking Holy Grail is ruined by JT. For someone of HOVs caliber, he botched that entire fucking thing. The beats are wack as fuck, the lyrics are suffering from muscular atrophy, many tracks are pretty damn repitive and boring, and its just a fucking disaster, in my opinion. BBC was OK, and Heaven was fairly decent, but that can't stand for bad that entire fucking album was. Seriously.

Which brings me to Born Sinner, J. Coles sophomore album. For being Jay's protege, its almost like HOV could learn a few things from him. The lyrics are engaging and entertaining, the beats are pretty damn good, and best of all he manages to pull off a good mix of radio music and real deep, lyrical rap. The lyrics are complex, and he manages to speak on many issues, which keeps you listening. The album has theme to it, which is always a plus in my book, and the whole album seems coherent and carefully planned. I think this album is easily going to be a known as a "classic" in the future.

Anyway, wanted to share my opinions on all the recent albums dropping, and INB4 "rap isn't music".

Some weird shit is going on up in here...

Anybody ever been on Eht Namuh? Allegedly it's the writings of an insane mathematician. Some of the weirdest shit I've ever seen.

So, quick questions. I am recovering from major leg surgery from Febuary 2012. I will be attending my first scenario events since the surgery on may 5th, and I'm medically cleared to do whatever I want as tolerated. Problem is, I have shin splint like issues due to the muscles in my legs being basically killed by surgery and being in a wheelchair for 2 months, and the issue still persists. I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best way going about the big game, and how to decrease pain before the game (exercise more, execise less, etc.). Any advice is helpful.
