I have always wanted to mill a marker by hand. Why you might ask? Because I can, and the 08 PMR is a confused marker with all its nike shoe tourney look and the sight rail on the back trying to look millsim. So off to the files, and very rarley the dremal to fix mistake. A few hours into it and here is how it is going. I did a quick sand and polish to see the areas that need work. I got rid of the sight rail and started to shape the area around the feed neck. I also have exaggerated the milling by cutting the lines deeper. Symmetry is the hardest thing when doing things like this by hand.
I have yet to decide the final look as I just start filing and see what it starts looking like. Like a project with no plan
This project will go on forever until I find something that works.
Here is the first mod in this attempt at what many others have tried, and failed. Two quad o-rings cut into the power tube tip and one on the face of the bolt. Test results to follow. I used a dril and a file to cut the groves into the brass, and a file and a lot of time to do the bolt.
It will look just like a stock classic mag when done, until you pull the trigger.

The general layout I will make an aluminum sleeve for the LPR and put a bike grip on it so it will look oldschool.
After some milling on the drill press and we are looking good.
This is a shot of where the micro switch will go
I had to shorten the trigger safety arm on the trigger so I could fit the switch in the frame and get room for the ram. This part of the trigger is what activates the switch. The second pic is what it looks like inside the marker.
The dry fit and it all fits nicely.
Now the layout with the lpr. I cant wait to see it with the bike grip on it.
I thought I may get some different ideas here so why not ask
I reversed the order in which the valve works. So the closed noid was replaced with a open noid that will hold the on off closed. If the on off is closed the shot chamber is empty and the sear does not need to hold the bolt back. When the noid is activated the ram vents and allows the on off pin to open and shoot the marker.
What is left of the sear. I will eventually move the ram directly under the on off and the rest of the sear can be removed.
How the sear started
Here is an animation to show hot the mag normally works, I just reverse the firing order. Pics by pneumagger on AO How it now works

This is another efficiency mod that has shown limited results, but I may as well. I also put two on it instead of just one.
The final test configuration.
The bolt can be reduced in weight since it does not need to catch on anything. It is really light. My scale wont turn on, dam. It makes a noticeable difference in recoil when dry firing.
A day of testing, 4000+ rounds and some surprising numbers, but not way better. With the gold bolt spring it did not want to crono over 250. With a slightly longer grey spring it cronoed fine.
The most noticeable differences were the accuracy difference between the two markers, and how much smoother the reverse mag shot. The reverse mag is one of the most accurate markers I have ever shot, I played 3 rounds on a hopper and two pods. I never shoot this little amount. It stacks way better at longer distances than my insert marker.
All test were with the same paint and barrel. I rounded all # to the nearest lower pod but none of the setups got into the next pod really.
Reverse Ego mag/level 10- Full 68/45- 1280+- rounds at 285ish
Ego mag/level 10- Full 68/45- 1080+- rounds at 285ish
Ego mag/level 7- full 68/45- 1120+- rounds at 285ish
If the bolt were lighter and the shot chamber were smaller I think I could get another 100+ rounds or so. I also need to try other on off pin lengths, to try to use the plugged level 10 bolt I have . So some tinkering will settle it and it will take its place as my workhorse marker due to its amazing accuracy at longer ranges.
