Just wait for the prices to keep dropping, geo 2 markers can be had now for less than 900.00

I'm calling shins on this one. Where are you seeing Geo 2s going for under $900? Please do tell. I've checked Ebay, PBN and Techpb's B/S/T and the cheapest I've seen is $925 (and that was used on ebay with days still on the auction)

To the OP:
There truly is very little difference in the markers in this class. No one is going to make you a better player of another. But when it comes to minor differences the Geo 2 is better then the Ego 8 in all aspects save for efficiency. You just aren't pulling more shots out of a spoolie then out of a poppit

No shens. I've personally sold a Geo 2 for under $900. They can ask for whatever they want. Go to a gold-upped thread from a regular user (not a frequent-seller) and offer $875. Chances are you'll get it.

the difference between the EGO7-EGO8-Geo2-Clone-Droid-G6R-Alias-DM9-NT-Ego11-anything else high end is a matter of nuance. If you drop $500 expecting earth shattering improvements, you will be sorely disappointed.

I agree.

"Is it worth it?" Depends on what you're trying to get out of it.

If you just want to try a spool, spend $500 on a DM. The Geo 2 isn't a smooth spool. Shoot it beside a DM or Droid/Clone and it will be immediately apparent.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I've owned two Geo 2s. They're alright. Efficiency wasn't good on either of the ones I owned, and that's a deal-breaker for me.

I'd get a Vice or Quest. Maybe an Etek.

Etek is going to be the tank. It will always work and comes with everything you need. I think the Vice is a better gun than the Etek, but it doesn't come with all the pack-ins, so you'll need to pick up some stuff besides it.

The Quest shoots better than either of those, and is a good deal.

I've owned every gun on your list but the Rail and Ego 8 and I'd shoot either the Quest or the Vice again without any hesitation. (Oh, and I owned an original Etek, not the Etek 3.)
