Fusion X barrel backs

18 January 2012 - 02:45 PM

Hey all,

Just bought a used FX and I have a couple questions about the barrel back and front.

Where can I buy more backs for the marker? Is the threading between the back and front a standard threading or do fronts and backs have to be matched?

Does anybody know if it's possible to bore the back out to fit freak inserts?

Is it worthwhile or is the stock back (.689 I think) good enough?

Thanks,
Noodles

New to me G3 iQ...Questions.

22 September 2011 - 01:43 PM

Hey all,

I've recently purchased a used G3 iQ and I have a few questions.

I'm new to speedball markers. My other marker is an A5 that is pretty much stock.

Unfortunately the guy who sold it too me didn't keep any of the stuff that came with it. No box, no spare o-rings, no manual, no grip hook and no lube.
I've downloaded the manual and looked it over. I stripped the marker down last night to clean it and to check it out. I'm one of these guys that like to take stuff apart to see how it works. Gives me a better understanding of the gear and I can visualize it if/when something is not working right.

So, questions:

I can't get the reg apart. I could get it off of the marker body but could not get the bottom sleeve off where the macro connection is (not sure what to call this piece) nor could I get the two pieces of it apart to check it out. Any suggestions?

The screw that keeps the bottom sleeve of the reg (again, not sure what to call this) from turning is not working. I tightened all the way but the sleeve still turns. I don't know if the screw is stripped or if something with the reg itself is stopping it from grabbing and holding.

On the ASA there is a large (3/8 or 1/4 hex) screw. Am I correct in assuming this is for switching the side of the ASA that the macro line comes out of?

On the front of the marker body right under the barrel there are two small hex screws. What are these for?

Any recommendations for a decent case to hold the marker? I'd like to keep it protected while it's in my gear/duffle bag. I looked at the Proto case and it seems it won't fit the stock G3 barrel since it's too long.

As I mentioned it did not come with any spare o-rings. Any suggestions on a decent kit to buy? I've looked at the player's kit from DP and I see that TechT has a kit and oringmonkey has kits.

Which lube(s) is/are recommended for the G3?

Thanks all.
