previous to paintball, i was this regular lad that every now and then went to the gym, absolutely loved to go out running, specially during winter (oh how do i love it)
did some boxing and took some mma and other ma classes every now and then, mostly on holidays.
regardless of how it sounds like, didn't really consider myself athletic at all. it was all seasonal if anything.
and then paintball came along.
competitions, mandatory training, more oriented gym sessions, etc.
and ever since then, i'm always injured somewhere or somehow, something aches, something is just not right.
it's either a swollen welt on my head, or my knees act up, or i pulled my shoulder muscles and ligaments, or i pulled some leg muscle.
OH MY GOD THE LOWER BACK CONTRACTURES, i remember after winning tournament a year ago, being completely paralized by this painful contracture during the whole 5 hour trip home.
fingers swollen (not from getting shot but from twisting them or something), hips aching, knees protesting, muscles tangled up etc.
and i'm only 23.
a 40 year old on my team has had to go through knee surgery almost 2 years ago because of bad technique on the slides, and another teammate, this time 18 years old, is under serious knee treatment from straining them too much adding up to a congenital thing.
don't tell me i need to warm up and stretch. that's mandatory for every training session, and every month or so i go to sports therapy.
and i'm not even counting all the contusive and lascerative injuries incurred in my experience.
So, share with the rest how much has your body been paying for this sport?
so i was watching the argentinian ACDC concert this morning, just before getting ready to go to the field.
then, to accentuate the mood, i tried searching for acdc related paintball videos, maybe people advertizing to it, maybe some random guy with a barrel cam playing while the music rocked, i don't know.
and this jewel popped out:
i can tell the editing is pretty basic really, and it's mostly (if not entirely) made out of two well known paintball videos. One is from HK and the other one is from a derder production, can't remember wich one.
but boy, some parts really synced up pretty well to the song, and the song in itself is, well, fucking awesome. It's shoot to thrill.
