Efficiency with Mechs

22 May 2010 - 07:48 PM

I'm sorry if this is kinda out of place, but the Noobie forum seemed appropriate for the question:

"What's the most efficient mechanical marker?" and "What are some runner ups to efficiency"

-they have to be mech
-they have to be able to run on CO2
-sub 150 price range (so that takes care of the Phantom and lots of other stuff)

I'm just looking to take my games back to the deep woods far away from compressors.

Pneumatic Tolerances

18 May 2010 - 02:39 PM

hey Everyone,

I would normally go to AO or MCB for a question like this, but I have confidence in TechPB so here goes:

I'm designing (and hopefully building) a valve, dump chamber, and valve activation system using only a lathe and drill press. I'm in the drawing/sketching phase. I usually just estimate how thick the walls (the difference between the ID and OD) should be to be safe at 200-500 psi, but i was wondering if there was anyone who knew the exact specifications for the psi to be safe at those levels.

The length/depth of the fitting holes would also be useful, although I think the ones I have designed are plenty deep.

Also, If anyone is aware of the best size for maximum flow through an airway that would be wonderful to share.

thanks y'all, I would really like to make this design, I have been dreaming it up for a long time now

Stock/Open Class Contacts

I just wanted to find if there's anyone in central NC who owns some open class or stock class markers. It would be really great to get together

Rocket Launchers

18 January 2010 - 05:18 PM

hey everyone, I recently completed a rocket launcher out of PVC tubing and I'm looking for advice on paintball applications for the launcher. Some nice tidbits would be: speed limits on the launcher, where to buy wholesale rockets, what are the limits on objects that can be fired (foam nerf rockets, tennis balls, water ballons, etc etc), some suggestions for making cheap rocket substitutes.

and, I know about spudfiles, they were a huge help in design and construction.

2004 cyborg vs 05 'borg vs 06 borg

14 January 2010 - 10:26 PM

hey TechPB, I'm doing research on the older Cyborgs, and I need some feedback about how they differ from year to year. It might just be me, but on youtube, the younger the gun gets the slower it seem to shoot in some cases.

there are of course the extreme cases like this:

but I just don't know what he's put in it to inject it with speed
