West versus East

01 July 2014 - 08:03 AM

Back in 06 and such the west seemed to have all the big games each year. D-day broke records and was the super game each year. CA promoted popular scenarios and the Big Game up north was building. Skirmish and Wayne's World was the only eastern games talked about.

Now today the western games are rarely talked about on the bigger boards. I don't see much wide scale promotions. The East has definitely made itself the place to be. Proper promoting has people marking their calendars and bumping closer games. We talk eCelebs and paintball all the time but are these eCelebs making the difference? I know when a producer signs Mike up for a game he gets the "mouth of the south" and Mike is going to let everybody know about the game. It's obvious that when Mike makes time to travel to an event that game will be promoted for months and more importantly ... promoted afterwards with follow up and reviews.

What do you think? Are eCelebs making the difference? Are they promoting to players that would otherwise not be reached? Is it that important to a big game to now have big names attending?

Canada's Wonderland feedback pls.

Looking to take my kid there. He's 12. What's a good part for him to go to? Is there a lot of waiting? Is there lockers?

It'll be a weekend unfortunately. So looking for suggestions.
