In Topic: Best Bolt for AXE...

i personally have the lurker bolt and if their is a difference between the bolts i dont think its a HUGE difference but since i dont own a boss bolt i wouldnt know.

thats because almost any bolt won't vastly increase a gun's performance

Uhh aftermarket bolts do increase a guns performance... once installed and properly tuned it makes em more efficient and like the other guy said add an underbore barrel into the equation and your gun is even more air efficient.
Stock bolt<aftermarket bolt

i never said it won't increase performance at all, i just said it won't be a huge difference

What do you define as a huge difference? Honestly it's by far the biggest difference I've seen with an upgrade. If >30% drops in pressure (and associated kick, efficiency and noise)aren't huge then define what you feel should be huge with a $30 upgrade.

Which would be useful if wasn't being applied to the bolt's for an AXE. They dramatically alter performance especially when combined with an underbore barrel. Pressure can be dropped about 30%. They get much smoother, quieter, efficient and easier on paint.

Oh and in relation to the question at hand I have both bolts and prefer the Boss. People suggest there is a noticeable sound difference between the two, if there is I can't hear it. I found the Boss much easier to tune.

My questions:

1) With good maintenance and a good hopper is my gun/set up good enough or is it now a relic?

2) Is a 1200$ gun that much better then a 500$ gun? OR is it like everything else in the world where some brands charge allot more just for their name. E.G a Dye DM12 for 1200$ over a Proto Rail Reflex 2012 for 500$ on ebay.

3) I for sure need a hopper. I'm thinking the dye rotor. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

4) Thinking about getting a carbon fiber 68/4500 tank HP maybe Ninja, but not sure if its needed.

5) As for a the barrel, I figure if im paying 400-500$ on a gun that the stock barrel should be world class, although this is not always the case. I could probably use a upgrade on my long shot 12'' tho if my bushmasters holds up. Suggestions on good barrels would be great!

6) Last but not least a mask is needed. My mask fogs up allot now and thats my biggest pet peeve. This is the last item I want to cheap out on. Best mask for for breathing, visibility and anti-fog. Dye masks look the best I think but have always been very expensive.

2) A $1200 isn't going to be $700 better then a $500 marker. Teams are winning tournaments with the Axe. If there really was a huge difference these guys would have an uphill battle. I have an Axe and a DM11. They are both great markers

3) I was anti-rotor until I got one, it just works.

4) the tank is nice, not needed but nice.

5) If you went for the Axe, I'd suggest a lurker barrel. The stock barrel is a little short and very large bored. A Lurker .678 allows you to drop the Axe settings significantly whick lowers the kick and sound signature

6) I have a eflex and love it.
