Luxe 2.0 vs MacDev GT vs Machine Vapor

03 June 2012 - 06:58 PM

Title says all

I'm trying to decide between the 3. Right now money isn't an issue.

the Vapor will come with:
- 2 triggers
- free hopper
- full barrel kit
- Pooty bolt

If you have experience with all then that is perfect, but all opinions are appreciated.

Cousins Big Game 2012

14 May 2012 - 03:25 PM

Taken from an e-mail received by Cousins regarding their Big Game.

Big Game 2012 is being moved to the Riverhead Location. After we made every effort to secure the historic event, the town served the Coram location an eviction notice enforceable just 3 days prior to the event.

Although we are saddened that we cannot celebrate the last Big Game at the Coram location, we are equally excited about creating a new annual event that will be the talk of the industry.

Paint Brawl 2012 is a Cousins exclusive format featuring scenario based play with a wave entry system. The new Riverhead location is the perfect place to introduce this concept along with some amazing amenities such as gear check, continuous free air ball exhibitions, full field access to compressed air fills, new on field paint access, and DJ entertainment all day long.

We realize many of us will miss the thrill of the helicopter and tanks so as a bonus, Cousins will offer all attendees FREE admission in the fall big game at the New Windsor location.

All pre-registered customers will automatically be switched over to the new game however, full refunds will be issued at a customer's request if they choose. We will be e-mailing and calling all pre-registered users.

Cousins Paintball has always been committed to providing the absolute best experience and the commitment today is stronger than ever. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you this weekend at the new Riverhead field for an amazing game. The address of Cousins Paintball Riverhead site is 407 Edwards Ave, Calverton, NY 11933.

Short story: Coram field is getting shut down, and the Big game will be held in their Riverhead field. If you preregistered you will receive an email, and you must reply if you are going. Cousins is giving a free admission to the New Windsor field for those who preregistered. Personally would have liked it if they gave a free case of paint lol.

Free Weights vs Machine..

06 April 2012 - 02:43 PM

So right of the bat I'm going to say, FREE WEIGHTS ARE BETTER THAN MACHINES (Smith Machines to be more exact).

For the record I'm going to use bench press as my main example but this really applies for all exercises including squats, deadlifts, etc

When you bench press you always make sure that the bar is straight while you are bringing it up or down, and moving it in a correct manner. This requires that you use equal force on both sides of your chest (left pec and right pec) and this stabilizes your muscles. One of the main problems with bench press smith machines is that all you really have to do is push and the bar will always go straight up. You don't need to use the correct form and you can lift up the whole bar while using more strength on one side over the other. Smith machines make it "easier" to lift the weights but they don't make you strong as fast as free weights do. Research has shown us that free weights promote quicker strength gains and they require more balance and coordination than do the weight machines.

The main thing I really like about free weights is the flexibility they give me. Smith machines DO NOT take your body shape into account. Using a smith machine that doesn't really go with your body shape is very dangerous especially when it comes squats.

When I was young I would bench press 75 on a smith machine (my cousin had a smith machine in his house). My father one day purchased a free weight bench press machine for our home, and when I tried to bench press 60, and I realized that the bar was only going up on the left side, and I almost killed myself(exaggerating but you get the point lol)

EDIT: I know my explanation isn't the best, but you can search this all online for better understanding.
