In Topic: New reg

Reg upgrades happen for a number of reasons. Dp had a rash of bad pistons causing their owners to upgrade. Old icd markers needed a backpressure relief hole causing shoot down.
Some markers (BL 360, p.e., dye hyper) have excellent factory regs and replacing them with a cp aftermarket reg would actually be a downgrade.

In Topic: Empire Z2 vs Virtue Spire

17 June 2014 - 10:26 PM

I have both spire 260 and z240.. Spire is used 99.9% of the time. Yes the spire takes all of 10 seconds to take apart and reassemble, while the z2 still takes me about 60 seconds.

Both companies have excellent service; spire I sent back for software updates and new cone, empire just sent me a new board for the z2.
Spire really does feel more sturdy, but the z2 is half the price. I'd consider feed/size/weight/jams differences to be pretty negligible.

Leave dwell stock, no reason to screw with it. SFR at the slowest setting and hard face bolt unless Im shooting very brittle paint.

My same settings for summer.

In Topic: Proto M8 Eyes

Yes one is a ir beam the other receives this beam similar to a normal tv remote and TV set. You can tell if the eye that generates the ir signal works by using a cell phone camera to "see" this beam.
Wired eyes are a tight fit in a pm8 unless milled for them. Could you have a break or a short against the body?

In Topic: Bob long vice vs Bob long Marq 6

This is a great vs, can't go wrong with either. I've had several of each and think the marq tuned properly has a smoother shot even with a lp poppit upgrade in the vice. I also prefer the inline poppit which is enclosed reducing a little extra wear if your in dusty/dirty fields.
Beware that the stock marq6 board and older vice board may not have 10bps or 12.5 bps settings if you need them.
