Although I've been playing paintball for 11 years, i'm a newb to scenario's and will be playing in my first big game on the 21st at Wayne's World... So my question to my techpb family is: what do i need to know?? What's important to remember to bring and do with a big game in contrast to playing recball and speedball?? Any info, advice/suggestions, would be awesome.
For example, how many pods are good to take with me to make sure i have plenty of paint (but not too heavy that i get weighed down)?
Thoughts on camelbacks? And how they relate to wearing them plus a big pod pack (tried it on yesterday and it felt cumbersome and awkward)...etc, etc, etc amongst any other things you can think of
Due to nursing school and getting 2 new jobs (for summer) i was unable to get vacation time to go to LL this year like i originally planned. I don't feel bad because i now have the means to make bank this summer, which was my goal (well, that's technically a lie, i feel HORRIBLY saddened i cantgo now), but as im laying here tonight fixing to call it a day i realized; many of my techpb brethren are sleeping right now preparing their bodies for total carnage (and fun) tomorrow. I wish you guys the best for this weekend and i can say i wish i was there as well, BUT (and this is my point here) since i cant be there ballin' with you gentleman i must make a request: please post up everything, Everything that you're experiencing and enjoying while you're there. Pics/shens/details/random stories, etc. post it up here! I'm dying to know. I must live vicariously thru you guys so i can have something forward to next time around!
So i go out in the woods today to play with my buddies for some outlaw ball, and BOTH of my old spyders (from 2002-2003) were having trouble shooting at a high enough fps to play... Like 225-230 ish... And i simply cant figure out why! Now i hould preface this by saying ive had these guns for approx 10 years now and i know them inside and out (can take em apart blindfolded, etc) BUT this problem/solution is escaping me... I did everything i could think of, new FULL tanks (tried CO2 and HPA), obviously adjusted the velocity, cleaned the PISS out of the guns, replaced o-rings, checked for leaks, one is mech and one is electronic so i even put a bew batt. In the one... And among other things... So idk! I have never been able to NOT fix these old beasts but this time is weird because they still "shoot" fine just not enough power behind the shot! The ironic thing is that BOTH guns are doing it, so the only thing i can fathom maybe new main springs are in order??? Maybe, MAYBE its the stupid cup seals... But idk! Help me out guys with thoughts and opinions! I need advice from my family here
I have finally (recently) warmed my girlfriend up to the idea of me playing paintball. Instead of the constant nag of how "much of a waste of money it is", she realizes that its something thats fun for me (good hobby, etc.) ...keep in mind that she is very athletic, played alot of sports, likes shooting just hasnt grasped the idea how fun it will be to shoot SOMEBODY with paintballs yet... Soooo here's my plan:
I'm going to buy her a gun, undecided on which one so far but im leaning towards a mini mainly because she's about 5'2, no macro line and its definitely a good stater marker that i can get cheap.... I'll need another hopper for her and im really contemplating a black spire...ive already got a spare 45/45 she can have and a great spare mask so im good there... But to make it girly and fit her taste im thinking about getting a freak barrel with a pink back and maybe some new grips just to show i really put some thought into it
If this backfires and she hates it my backup will be to keep the spire (because i want one anyway) re-sell the mini because i'll be leaning towards a black gun anyway, and swap the barrel back for a black and just stick it on my gun lol (so it wouldnt be a huge loss)
U guys have any advice on ANYTHING? Gun/hopper choice, etc.? Ways to go about it? I know she will love paintball, she just needs to get out and try it, and i feel like having her own setup will REALLY help
