In Topic: Can't go on PBnation because of my age :(

Every forum has age verification now, as I think there was a law passed about protecting children on the internet.

Sheesh, I was viewing internet pr0n by the time I was his age for sure. I turned out --mostly-- okay. I certainly wouldn't see any need to protect a kid from a paintball forum.

I mean, he could be looking up how to build a pipe bomb or a zipgun. And I DONT THINK a site that is sharing that kind of information has an age-check!

It's not about the content of the forum, but rather communicating with others(ie the potential for the child to give out their personal information) I think.

In Topic: Smart parts sp1 vs gog g1

Just to clear up the confusion. The SP-1 can get a blackheart installed with eyes, but you need to also buy the breech for the eyes. The G-1 doesn't come with the blackheart unless you order one specifically with it installed already. It's worth the money if you plan to get it as it's only $50 over the non-blackheart edition, while the board itself costs $65 and you have to install it(which if you plan to change the feedneck you need to get deep into the marker anyways). The board does come with eyes if you buy the board by itself, so no worries.

Just realize with the blackheart you get a lot of programming options, and you will have to do at least a bit of research into how to do that. It's not as simple as the stock board. There is a great video on youtube about it though. I can't say if it's worth it or not, I never played with my G-1 without the blackheart. However I have literally no use for all the programming stuff. I did program it, but none of the options benefit me really over the stock. I didn't need to exceed the 12bps or need the extra modes. I can't say whether it will truly break paint without eyes, word is it's pretty damn rare.

In Topic: marker upgrade?

I wouldn't compare the progress of electronics(like a cellphone) to paintball makers. Technology is progressing very fast, so two years means a lot when it comes to something like a cellphone. I don't think the same applies to the paintball world.

In Topic: Battery storage?

Taking them out will save your battery. My brother-in-law and I both got a G-1 and he left his battery in and I took mine out, we didn't end up playing for half a year or so. When we did play, his battery was dead, and my own battery which was set aside lasted the entire day(and probably still has a decent charge).

Not to mention it's just good practice. Eventually you'll come to a point where you stop using the gun(maybe get a new gun or something) and just set it aside, you don't want the battery to eventually leak inside the gun and ruin the components.
