How to clean a barrel sleeve?

26 August 2013 - 02:13 PM

So I shot a couple of paintballs in my barrel sleeve yesterday and it's got quite a bit of paint in it. What's the best way to clean it out? I can't really flip it inside out, and I couldn't find anything online about cleaning them.

Comfortable feet?

01 April 2013 - 09:45 PM

What are some good things I can do to protect my feet from getting blistered? Just a single day of playing(from 10am-4pm) leaves the skin on the back of my heels literally falling off.

So what can I do to prevent this? I've tried patching the back up with gauge and such but it still happens(not to mention it typically falls off). Are there some nice shoes/boots I can look into?(when I try shoes on at the stores they feel comfortable, but then after I buy them and break them in I realize they aren't that comfortable at all. Surely there are some specific brands or such I can look into? However I am a bit of a budget player). Is there something I can do with my feet?

Any help is appreciated, this is pretty much my number one problem when I go out and play.

Proto Switch and glasses

29 March 2013 - 03:43 PM

So I got the Proto Switches(with thermal) over at ANS and sad to say... they hurt with my glasses. They pretty much press the entire frame of my glasses into my face very tightly, and it's pretty painful. While loosening the strap alleviates the pain a bit, it's still pretty tight and the mask and while the mask is secure, I wish it was moreso.

So what are my options here? Does anyone have the Proto Switch and wears glasses? Is there something to alleviate the pressure it puts on my glasses? Should I just return them and look for another mask in the price range($40-$50)?

And before anyone asks I did visit my local paintball shop to try on masks. I suppose it's a good thing, but the spring season hit them and they had barely anything in stock.

Need to pick a budget feeder

05 January 2013 - 03:08 PM

Alright so I'm trying to pick the best budget feeder. I don't need to feed 20bps or anything like that, I just want reliability, efficiency and being able to hold a pods worth of paint... I was eying the Pinokio sale on ANS but ultimately decided while it'd be amazing to have, I could probably get something a little cheaper and use the extra money for other things I need. I should probably mention I'm using a GOG G-1 w/ blackheart.

So, around the $40-$60 range, what's the best choice in feeders? Ya, it would be nice to get a Rotor or something but it's simply not in my budget, please understand that.

A few I have been looking at:

1) Local shop has a Halo Too for $65.
2) 9v Fasta.
3) SSL-200.

Which is the best pick out of the bunch? Or are there other choices for me in this price range I should look into?

Would you start over for a better paintball experience?

03 January 2013 - 01:49 PM

Just a hypothetical. Would you be willing to start over fresh with paintball(meaning all your current gear would be rendered obsolete) if it meant having a better paintball experience? What if... next year, some new company came out with products that absolutely revolutionized paintball. I mean I can't imagine any specifics as to what this could entail, but if maybe they designed more accurate, cheaper paintballs(of course they probably wouldn't even be balls). And with the new ammo designs means loaders would be useless, and they'd move to magazine or drums or such.

All in all, at the end of the day everything is more accurate, efficient and cheaper... but it's built around a design from the ground up. It's not applicable to any of the equipment we currently have... would you be willing to start over for paintball to take a big step forward? I imagine the biggest problem would be the league games, since the entire sport and rulebook is designed around modern paintball and that these designs don't exactly move that gametype forward.
