So my dad has owned a 1968 Mercedes 280SL for the past 30 years or so. It's still drivable but it definitely needs a lot of work. Every year we've been doing a touch up here and there to keep it going, but we finally decided to give it some the love it deserves. Unfortunately, my family is in the construction business, not the automotive business, so any work done would have to be done by my dad's friend/mechanic. My dad told me, "You want this car to get fixed up? You're in charge." I don't even know where to start with this. Does anyone know a legitimate website to get parts? I have a feeling getting them through Mercedes would be astronomically expensive, so maybe there are some good second hand parts out there somewhere? We're not looking to turn this into a show car, we just want it to be a driver quality car. If this turns out to be as big of a project as I think it would be, it might be more cost effective to just sell ours and look for one in better condition.

It's basically identical to this one, but it's an automatic, not a 4 Speed:

Old news but I haven't heard any mention of it on this thread yet:

Anyone else get a Dragon attack every time they go to Dawnstar?

Pretty much. I've had to fight 3 dragons at once on my way out of the Dark Brotherhood Lair. <_<

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Although I have to say I was quite proud that she made it through Irene and stayed bone dry inside. (Admittedly it was covered but that's just semantics) :P

InfaMOUSE: Yup.

nickp: Yeah yeah, I know all of the newer FWD Volvos probably aren't as reliable as the old RWD tanks, but that's what warrantees are for.

I mean, it's not a performance car by any means, but I had no intentions of racing/ tuning my car so it's perfect for me. My dad said he wanted me to get something "a bit unconventional" so he was real happy when I found this.
