Insurance said their underwriter wasn't going to recommend coverage. They didn't feel comfortable as they saw this tiny non profit addition to my property had the potential to cause liability issues if someone got hurt. Especially underage participants who may have parents looking for a way to take a small accident and turn it into a court appointed money making plan for them. Plus it's something out of the ordinary around these parts for coverage. I kinda dropped a red herring on the table as they say. They did say if I do plan to still build it in future to contact them again as they may be more prepared to some up with a coverage plan and/or they may be with a different underwrier at that time. Plus if it was built a representative could come out to inspect for a better idea of what they'd be dealing with. I'm still building it when time permits.

I plan to build the field anyway. I'm sure it won't be a problem. Some waivers are a good idea. I'll post what the insurance says when I get the chance to call.

Right now the few who would play there are all close friends and family. None of them would make it a court thing even if something happened. And I'm not making a death course of rusty nails and barbed wire. However if you build it, they will come. And I have a feeling once people know about it, I'll have them knocking on my door on weekends asking if they can play there. I will be consulting experts in the legal field on my options.

That is definitely first order of business before I'd start any part of the project. Because there is no fields handy to my town and there is a few who wish to play, I know if I were to even build the one course field I'm invisioning, I'd have many knocks on the door asking if they could play there. I mainly just wanted to make it for myself because I love Paintball and always said I'd have my own small practice field, and now my new wife has three boys whick the two younger will most likely want to take up playing since I've introduced them to the sport.
