NXT Shocker huge FSDO

19 June 2013 - 06:30 PM

So I bought this NXT, and it just refuses to work. Here's the deal:

NXT Shocker, Blackheart board, TechT enertia bolt, CP reg.

First time I aired it up, the bolt wouldn't cycle fully on the first few shots. I put new o-rings on the moving parts, re-lubed it (lightly), and reset the dwell to 12 and the pressure to 180 as per TechT's instructions. Got it shooting reliably, took it to the field and found I was chronoing at 330+. So I turned down the HPR to legal limits and POOF back to FSDO again. I was actually able to use it for one game, shot about 2 pods through it, but then it would take about 5-8 shots to even get the bolt to move.

Disgusted, I threw it back in my car and switched to my Angel for the rest of the day.

Today I re-lubed the orings as per zdspb's instructions and have gotten the same result. I have to shoot the gun several times to even get the bolt to move. I've heard these have FSDO problems, but the Enertia bolt is supposed to eliminate that. I'm starting to think maybe the solenoid is bad.

Any thoughts?

P.S. I'm using a fully charged 9.6v battery.

Making an appearance all the way back from the 90's....it's the coolest gun-that-sorta-looks-like-a-marital-aid: My new Airstar Nova 700!

And what could be cooler than a Nova? How about, two Nova's?

And why stop there, because if you call now, we'll also thrown in a free:

This is typically what a gun looks like 15 minutes after I purchase it. Also, on a completely unrelated topic, my Rainmaker no longer works properly :D

Buying a tablet?

28 May 2013 - 11:21 PM

I'm looking at buying a tablet, and I'd like to get everyone's opinion on the subject. I'm looking at Android OS only, no Mac stuff please. Not really into tablet gaming, just something to do mainly web surfing and reading, and no cellular service needed.

I've got it narrowed down to the following:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 $350
Asus Transformer Infinity $440
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 $400
Google Nexus 10 $400

I blame Kevin for this one

After watching all his ICD shens and reminiscing about my long departed red BKO, I saw this on Ebay and couldn't pass it up:
