D.A.R.T. Bolt in an ETEK 4, huh?

20 July 2014 - 01:50 PM

Okay, I did some searching and didn't quite find the exact answer I was looking for but I think I have gotten close. This one is for the seasoned gun techs out there. I recently picked up a used ETEK 4 AM. The guy put a POPS on it and it has a D.A.R.T. bolt. After doing some digging, I know that for the EGO 11, it is not recommended to run the D.A.R.T. bolt without the exhaust valve and valve guide that come with the kit. Taking apart my ETEK, I noticed that my rammer housing and my valve guide are one piece and not separate like in the EGO 11. The Exhaust valve itself looks like the stock one from and EGO 11 but white instead of black and the rest of it is bone stock save for the bolt. Now I know you can get bolts by themselves for the ETEK 4 like the Hush or Kush bolts. I wanted to know if there's any problem with running the D.A.R.T. bolt by itself or it it will cause damage? The other bolts don't come in kits and I wanted to know some of the differences. Just to be safe, I put the stock bolt back in since my friend included it when he sold me the gun.

I would like some opinions on higher end guns.

I'm to a point where I can save some money up to buy a nicer marker. I'm leaning toward the GEO3 because I already have a PE gun, an ETEK4, and I like it a lot. I also like my friend's DM so I have been looking at older DMs.

I would like to hear some pros and cons, suggestions, comparisons to other guns and opinions.

I've shot an LV1, DM14, Luxe and a Bob Long Victory but I haven't been able to compare the others. Let me know what you think.

Found this by accident and thought it was funny.
