Well, the pistol doesn't only save you paint, it's an entirely different feel to the game. You have no hopper and no tank on the marker, so you can essentially move at full speed. You can only throw a limited volley before reloading as well, so when you combine those two things it makes for a faster more mobile game. Other things become important like getting to your spare mags and reloading smoothly. Also if/when you win you are walking off and they notice you beat them with a pistol B)

Try a 45 degree angle mount and a few risers. That works perfectly for me. It also gets the site out away from the hopper if you have one.

I got a TPX for pretty much this reason (saving paint) and it worked out decently. You can make do, and you are very fast/agile which offsets the lack of rope throwing and the reloading to some extent. You do have to be very aggressive to get things done. Also there will be some times when you just end up under a few ropes and there's almost nothing you can do. For that reason I ended up caving eventually and getting a TM7 so I could throw ropes back sometimes, but I still use my TPX about 50% of the time.

Besides the obvious best gear possible I'd also build a field with replica fields, but not COD. Forget COD. My fields would be replicas of Tom Clancy maps from Rainbow Six games. MP_Streets? Yes. Killhouse Single and Double? Yes. Ghost recon Cargo Ship? Yes. Rental guns will be like TPX's and DAM's. All mag fed all the time. We would also have a full stock of rental RAP68's customized to be awesome, and on one day a week it will be all shotguns.

I LOVE MP_Streets.

I only said i would build replica COD maps because it would be more easily marketable, as many more people know of COD than the Tom Clancy games.

Yeah but knowing the maps isn't as important as how they play. COD maps are just run and gun terroristy wild man fests. Rainbow maps are tight and tactical with good setups for battle lines and team play.

Also, I guess if I have a million bucks, my rental DAM's will taze you if you try to leave the property with them.

If you're not in a tourney, I don't think you have to throw ropes to win at speedball. I can do just fine with a pistol. I mean obviously it's a disadvantage, but it's not going to be impossible to win.
