I've had a few designs printed in alloy at shapeways, and you won't get anything near a functional prototype if that's what you're after.

If you are wanting to test basic ergonomics, shapeways is a great solution, but save the money and just go for the basic acrylic 3D prints as you won't get any benefit in paying 4x more for a alumide 3d print.

If you want to make a functional prototype you're going to need to find a machine shop.

Either way best of luck and interested to see some images.

Triggers are all personal preference though. You try to please the majority, and live with the knowledge that the minority can purchase aftermarket triggers if they really don't like it.

I personally love the GT's trigger, in my opinion G6R's and Clone's are the best feeling / easiest markers to shoot in semi auto.

In Topic: Social Paintball Banned from the NPPL

14 January 2013 - 04:45 PM

Social didn't remove the post because there was a lot of information on there that was very newsworthy, such as the new locations and approximate dates. Media outlets such as SocialPB like to share industry rumours/news, so this type of information is exactly what they are looking for, and what people read their posts/website looking for.

Yea, sure the dates were wrong, but they did their best to make sure everybody knew that, and the post stayed up because the locations were of great interest to the community. The first line on their website and the post on facebook explained very clearly that the dates were incorrect.

And, Frank could of just commented with the correct dates so that SocialPB could let people know. Only one event date was wrong and it seems like it was a typo rather than anything else, all the other information was correct.

At the end of the day though, this kind of drama makes the whole industry seem childish. Especially when one of the involved parties represents a paintball company and one of the largest paintball tournament series in the world.

In Topic: Is this the end of the Vanguard Creed?

11 January 2013 - 03:56 PM

There was definitely no settlement or "win" from my perspective at all. My company will be operating at a loss for the next 2-3 years as a result.

From what I know the creed was discontinued so that Frank and co. could focus on the Demon. Also, it desperately needed a refreshed design internally and externally, and as all of the designers were long gone it wasn't going to happen. Similar reason why the Demon still looks the way it did in 2007. :)
