Bullshit. The video offers an accurate depiction of what occurs in the barrel.

Well of course. Helmet cam is the generic term these companies have given the contour/gopro/etc. I'd take one of those and barrel mount it if they had an optical zoom. Regardless, your solution is great and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Keep em coming!

Awesome videos and idea! I've always said the best part of paintball videos is being able to see the balls and the player getting hit. It's a shame there is no helmet camera with an optical zoom. This seems to be the only viable solution.

My thoughts on this:
1) The biggest contributor is definitely the paint ball's surface defects, the seam being the largest factor
2) Next largest factor is random imparted spin
3) There may be other smaller factors involved, but they would be very difficult to determine

Both of the two large factors above involve the vortex shedding of the ball, so I guess saying that "vortex shedding" is the culprit isn't incorrect, it's just non-specific.

Ding ding ding! WInner winner chicken dinner! This is easily visible even in a non controlled test. .682 bore vs .695 and the accuracy difference is clear as day.
