In Topic: Paintball vs Airsoft: Why we hate each other

Alright, so I know this is a paintball website and beleive me, I'm paintball 110% but I've also played airsoft and it was ok. Let's compare them, shall we? (wow that sounded *banmeplzktx* (I can say *banmeplzktx*, because me and my life partner go to Disney every single year) (I can say *banmeplzktx* (I can say *banmeplzktx*, because me and my life partner go to Disney every single year), because me and my life partner go to Disney every single year))Paintball: always around 300 fps, more of a sport than a hobby.Airsoft: Ranges from 150 to 450 fps, hurts a hell of a lot more, hobby.Paintball: Safety is very valued, safetys on, barrel socks, masks.Airsoft: More unsafe, sunglasses instead of masks, no barrel socks, people get careless and don't use safety.So I've been thinking, what about organizing a pb vs airsoft game, just to show that PB pwnz paintball. Let's all try it. go get some close paintballers and some airsofters and have a game. Paintball all the way!

Airsoft hurts more? Lets have a science lesson, shall we?

Newton's Second Law : II. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors ; in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.

So for you slower ones, F = Pain. The more force the more it will hurt.

So on average a Paintball goes 300 FPS; Airsoft 350 FPS (Airsoft varies more than Paintball)

In addition, A paintball usually weighs 3 Grams; An Airsoft pellet, .12 grams (Usually)

Lets start with Airsoft:
F=.12 x 300 F= 36 (Measured in Newtons)
So on average when your getting shot with an arisoft gun you getting 36 Newtons of force hitting you.

Paintball on the other hand;
F=3 x 300 F=900
A little bit more, Eh?

Now lets give Airsoft the benefit of the doubt and say that whoever is playing has invested alot of money into the sport.

The most FPS that I could find that an Airsoft gun could shot is 700 FPS and it shoots a .45 gram pellet.

F=700 x .45 F=315 Not that much more? Take into account that all of that force is being directed in to a millimeter diameter spot on you, Hell yeah that is going to hurt a shit load more.

But on average a Paintball will hurt more.

Your leaking from your Solenoid.

First thing your should do- Take your gun apart and unscrew the solenoid, then lube the O-rings and screw the solenoid on tight.

If this does not work try turning down the pressure on your LPR.

If all fails send your gun in, you need a new solenoid.
